East Coast Railway Recruitment 2024-25: Scouts & Guides Quota

East Coast Railway has announced a fantastic opportunity for active members of Bharat Scouts & Guides to apply for Group-C and erstwhile Group-D posts under the Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2024-25.

Vacancy Details

• Group-C (Level-2): 2 posts
• Erstwhile Group-D (Level-1): 6 posts

Important Dates

• Notification Date: 25th January 2025
• Closing Date: 24th February 2025 (6:00 PM)
• Closing Date for Andaman, Nicobar & Lakshadweep Residents: 10th March 2025 (6:00 PM)
• Tentative Exam Date: 2nd week of March 2025

Eligibility Criteria

1. Scouting/Guiding Qualifications:

   • President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
   • Active member of Scouts organization for the last 5 years.
   • Attended at least two National/All Indian Railway level events and two State-level events.

2. Educational Qualifications:

   • Group-C: 12th (+2 stage) with 50% marks or equivalent, or Matriculation with ITI for technical categories.
   • Erstwhile Group-D: 10th or ITI or equivalent, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).

3. Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025):

   • Group-C: 18 to 30 years
   • Group-D: 18 to 33 years
     (Relaxations apply for SC/ST, OBC, and other categories.)

Application Process

• Candidates must fill out the application form available on the East Coast Railway website.
• Applications should be sent via Ordinary/Registered/Speed post or dropped in the designated box at the address:
  Assistant Personnel Officer (HQ), 2nd Floor, South Block, Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, Odisha – 751017.

Application Fee

• General Candidates: ₹500 (₹400 refundable upon appearing in the exam).
• SC/ST, Women, PWDs, and Economically Backward Classes: ₹250 (fully refundable upon appearing in the exam).

Selection Process

1. Written Test:

   • 40 objective questions (40 marks)
   • 1 essay-type question (20 marks)
   • Negative marking applies (1/3 deduction for wrong answers).
   • Minimum qualifying marks: 35%.

2. Document Verification:

   • Tentatively scheduled between 20th and 26th March 2025.
